REEMORE's Dedication to Sustainable Manufacturing
Eyewear that cares.
For us at REEMORE, this is more than just a saying. We make stylish, top-quality sustainable sunglasses with the planet in mind. Here’s a look at the main things we’re doing to make our eco-friendly eyewear production more ethical and better for the environment, aiming to improve how things are done in the industry.
Laser Printing: A Smart, Green Way to Make 3D-Printed Eyewear
One of our main goals at REEMORE was always to make fully 3D-printed eyewear frames. We believe Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) technology, or "laser printing," gives us more flexibility in how we make things and in our designs.
Unlike some 3D printing that creates rough early versions, our SLS laser printing melts fine powder layer by layer. This creates smooth, exact, and strong final products with a unique matte look, all ready to wear. This modern method is a big part of our sustainable manufacturing approach.
Importantly, laser printing lets us make our sustainable sunglasses as they’re needed. This means we only create what’s necessary, cutting down on overproduction, which is often a problem in the eyewear world. Also, SLS technology naturally reduces waste. Because it adds material bit by bit, it only uses what's needed for the frame. This means less waste, very different from the leftover material common in older frame-making methods.
Carbon-Reduced PA12: A Responsible Material for Low Carbon Footprint Sunglasses
The material we use for our laser-printed eco-friendly sunglasses is a top-quality, carbon-reduced Polyamide 12 (PA12).
So, why this material? Typical eyewear is often made with materials and methods that are harder on the environment. But our carbon-reduced PA12 is made using ways that are designed for a much lower carbon footprint. Some special PA12 materials can cut CO2 emissions by up to 40-46% when they’re made, compared to regular PA12, mostly by using renewable energy.
When you put the good points of this low carbon footprint material together with our smart SLS 3D printing, the benefits are even clearer. Studies comparing 3D printed eyewear to regular acetate frames show that 3D printing can lower the carbon footprint by over 50% and create much less waste. By using carbon-reduced PA12, REEMORE makes sure your strong, cool sunglasses are also a better choice for the planet.
EU Production and Distribution: Cutting Emissions for Greener Eyewear
Another key part of our sustainable approach is keeping our manufacturing and product distribution within the EU. This way, our 3D-printed eyewear doesn't travel as far. This cuts down on carbon emissions and energy used for shipping – that’s a big difference from brands that make things far away.
Being in the EU also means we follow tough European rules for the environment and fairness. So, your REEMORE sunglasses are not only eco-friendly but also safe, made right, and top quality.
REEMORE is Making a Difference in Sustainable Eyewear
At REEMORE, we're proud to lead the way with truly sustainable sunglasses, using new laser printing methods and our choice of carbon-reduced PA12. We think our way gives you great eyewear and is better for the planet and everyone involved in making them. By using materials and methods that are gentler on the environment, we're exceeding the industry standard in our environmental responsibility.
Focusing on sustainable materials and making things this way is just one of REEMORE's three main ways we act responsibly. Learn more about how we're dedicated to Repairability and Recyclability to see all the ways we're trying to create a full circle, sustainable REEMORE system for your eyewear.
